I believe the Toronto scene was modeled after the UK scene. My understanding is that some of our scene's founders took various trips to England and were so impressed by the community, vibe, and attitude of those parties that they wanted to create something similar at home. The scene exploded all over Canada. Since then, England and Canada have enjoyed a kind of foreign exchange program of DJs playing each other's backyards. Big respect to the founders, and big respect to the innovators that kept that original vibe alive while expanding the scene! Thanks for the great reply, Jay!
